Throughout the semester, we will complete the Hunter's Safety Ed. Course (HSEC), a Texas Parks & Wildlife based safety course.

Major topics of the HSEC:

 

• Firearm safety

• Hunting strategies (what is ethical and safe)

• Preparation & Survival skills

• Using the TP&W Outdoor Annual

• Wildlife Identification

 

We will be taking money for enrollment in our HSEC at any time during the semester (check or cash must be paid to school finance officer, not teacher; check made out to Peet JH, not teacher).   This is a lifetime certificate that never has to be renewed or repaid upon successful completion.

 

All coursework will be completed by ALL students regardless of payment as this material is part of the course curriculum (participation is required, payment is not).  There will be many graded assignments taken from the HSEC course; the state's HSEC exam will be used as part of student's 9 weeks & semester grade in course.
